The T. R. Ellett Agricultural Research Trust aims to support research for the benefit of the Agricultural Industry in New Zealand. The Trust also aims to honour Trevor’s legacy with a focus on pastoral research. However other projects that meet fit into the core values of developing researchers, enhancing farming productivity, profitability and environmental sustainability and /or enhancing rural communities and/or the social cohesion of Aotearoa/New Zealand will also be considered.
The Trust also values research that identifies a gap and has co-investment and buy in from farmers. The role of extension and projects directly addressing extension gaps will also be given special consideration by the Trust who recognise the importance of research being useful and used on-farm for system change and future-proofing of the industry.
